Sexting

I watched the video about the boy who was convicted of child pornography again, I feel the same way I felt about the young girl.

Okay, yes, this boy made a huge mistake. He sent a nude picture of his girlfriend that he had a fight with to everyone on her call list. This was definately wrong, embarrassing for the girl and it effected lots of people on both sides of the spectrum.

But the punishment is way to harsh. The boy is not a child molester. He didn't hurt a child. I feel that I the fine for $1500 or more and some community service and maybe seeing someone for why he did what he did would be sufficient.

But to be kick out of college, can't live with dad, lost his job, and he is now a registered sex offender is preposterous.

I think that the law has taken this too far. I am not condoning what he did by any means, but the girl wasn't to bright either to be sending stuff like that via the phone. As kids we have all done stupid things in our life. I know that I have sure have. Hind site is 20/20 and if I could take back some of the stuff I did I would but we learn from our mistakes.

This kid life is destroyed. He will always be looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life. Always going to have trouble finding a job amongst other things.

It just amazes me when you need a law for domestic violence against a women they don't come. You try to get a court order of protect which is a piece of paper that they person you got it against breaks. The law tells you they can't really do anything until he actually tries to harm you. Ain't' that something. But by then it is too late.

I am referring to a true story about Thurman women who husband beat her, stabbed her over thirty times, stepped on her neck, cut her face all while the law stood there watching. She had filed over and over complaints to the police department and had court order protection but nothing was ever done. So when you need the law its not on your side.

Compare this with the too. I don't know call me crazy. It goes from one extreme to another extreme.

Like I said, I don't condone what was done he should be punished for what he did but he is definitely no sex offender. Now if he did something to a small baby or child heck yeah, I would throw the book at him.
